Dorfin Daze

This is just one dog's look at life, love, and the occasional roll in cat poop. Though there are millions of stories out there, this is a tail from the point of view of a 6lb. Pomeranian. My name is Woodie the Dorfin and welcome to my world. PS. For those of you unfamiliar with blogs, the earliest is at the bottom, and the very first items are in the archives. It is a good idea to start there on the first visit. Also, fill free to comment or ask questions. I will bark... write back.

Mr. Desirable

That's me now, though I used to be known as Captain Danger. Every night I risked health and limb sleeping with Mama and Papa.

As the song goes, “Mama was a rolling stone….” She tossed and turned and rolled all night. Papa would hold me cradled beside him in his arms for protection, but as soon as he got sleepy or the lights were turned out, I would dart for the foot of the bed. Oh, I would occasionally sneak up and curl up next to Papa, but I would keep one eye open for Mama, and one ear for Papa.

You see, Papa snores! I mean like a freight train, or that’s what Mama says since I never saw one of them. So when she would start moving or Papa started snoring, causing her to move, I would run.

Now things are different. Let me say first Mama and Papa love each other. But… the bed is too small for everyone, even Pepe the cat sleeps there sometimes, as does Sir Buddy of the Long Hairs. He usually sleeps on the tile floor in the bathroom next to the cold air register. I digress.

Anyway, they have decided until they can get a King Size bed for all of us, they are sleeping in separate rooms.

Mama can roll all over the bed upstairs, and Papa can snore to his own delight. A funny aside, I have seen Papa wake himself up by snoring. Don’t tell him, I told you.

Here is the killer; I have to take turns sleeping with them. You know, it’s like joint custody. I sleep one night with Mama and the next night with Papa. It’s kind of cool, but the biggest pain is, it takes the one not sleeping with me twenty minutes to say good night. I like to be petted, but give this poor tired doggy a break.

I have to go; Mama says it’s time for bed. I think it’s her night. I’m not sure but… I guess it is… Papa’s reaching for me now...

Later,

Woodie
