Dorfin Daze

This is just one dog's look at life, love, and the occasional roll in cat poop. Though there are millions of stories out there, this is a tail from the point of view of a 6lb. Pomeranian. My name is Woodie the Dorfin and welcome to my world. PS. For those of you unfamiliar with blogs, the earliest is at the bottom, and the very first items are in the archives. It is a good idea to start there on the first visit. Also, fill free to comment or ask questions. I will bark... write back.

My Version of Mark Phelps, At My Olympics

On one of our many trips to the mountains we came to this wonderful pool of water. I don't know if I mentioned this before, but I am part otter. I simply love to swim.

We were at the ocean a couple weeks ago in Rehoboth, Delaware and Mama had to keep pulling me out of the waves. It was great.

When the "Surf's Up", give me a surf board, and I can probably beat any old penguin with these "Happy Paws".

Look back at one of my first articles and you will
see me as a lifeguard for Mama and Papa in the hot tub. I'm Good.

Gotta go and get on my swimming trunks,,, oh yeah, I go "au naturale" skinny dipping. Don't peek now.

Sometimes You Just Need a Break

During a recent hike, we came across this cool outcropping. While Momma and Inna decided what they were doing (actually, I think it was excuse to rest), I found the neatest place around.

I'm no dummy! I'm cool!

It's Been A long Way Home!

Momma and Inna (her daughter and Cinnamon's human Mom) decided a couple of months ago to go walking one day a week. Cinnamon and I go with them and sometimes one of my "nephews".

As it goes with a lot of things in life, at least as I have noticed, one thing turns into another and the 2 hour walks turned into 7 to 13 mile, 5 to 7 hour hikes. I'm not sure what a mile is, but my paws know. Sometimes Momma has to carry me part of the way.

In this picture you can view a little (very, very little) of the path we just came through, and you can see what is left of me.

I'm Back!!!!

Hi Everyone,

I'm sorry I haven't written lately.

There are a multitude of reasons. Basically I can't do this myself. I've tried typing and my paws just keep sliding off the keyboard.

Mama's been busy with her garden and/or her bad back.

Papa is just now getting over his accident from last year. He finally agreed to help me again.

Of course, part of it is having my three "nephews" living here. Hey, that would be a good title for a TV series, "My Three Nephews".

Rocky's masters had to send him back, because his human Papa is not well, so we have a crowd here. He is so noisy at times, I have to hide under the bed.

I'll tell you more about them as time goes on. I asked Mama to make some new pictures of us, because Papa has a new hobby, grooming us. We all have our summer coifs and look like a million bucks, or at least $3.98.

Talk soon,

Woodie

Time moves on... slowly

Hi,

It’s been a while since I’ve written. It’s not my fault… really. As I’ve told you many times, a human has to do the actual typing because my paws keep slipping off the keys. Therein lies the problem. Hmm… maybe if I let my nails get longer.

Papa and Mama have had a lot of problems this year. She had back surgery and still has pain. She really keeps the chiropractor busy. He was in a car accident, later hurt his arm, and had other medical problems, too many to mention. For fairly young people (7 & 9 in dog years), they surely are falling apart.

Then there are my nephews. Racer, Gordy, & the lively Rocky. Yes, Rocky is back but that is a story for another day.

Having youngsters around is supposed to keep you young. I’m not sure. They do keep me running, and maybe I need the exercise, but it can be very tiring. I will turn 3 this year and sometimes it feels like 8 or 9.

Mama & Papa had the back yard fenced in and that added a new dimension to play time. I know they did it so they didn’t have to walk with us 12 times a day, but it has increased the actively level; especially when we play “race around the hot tub”.

Most of the time I can keep up, but sometimes… I think I’ll take a nap now.

Later,

Woodie

Racer's looking for a good loving home!

We call him "Racer", because of his stripes, but he is so intelligent he will adapt to whatever you call him. He is so lovable you will fall for him immediately. He will probably weigh about 8 lbs, like his father. He really would like to be in a good home with people who love him. His human Mama will surely miss him because she delivered him, and has taken very could care of him and his brothers.
