Dorfin Daze

This is just one dog's look at life, love, and the occasional roll in cat poop. Though there are millions of stories out there, this is a tail from the point of view of a 6lb. Pomeranian. My name is Woodie the Dorfin and welcome to my world. PS. For those of you unfamiliar with blogs, the earliest is at the bottom, and the very first items are in the archives. It is a good idea to start there on the first visit. Also, fill free to comment or ask questions. I will bark... write back.

I'm A Bad Dog!

You see, no matter how small I am, I am still a dog. Get it! What does this have to do with anything?

I bit Papa!

Honest to Gosh, I didn’t mean to. I just did it. Instinct, genes, I don’t know.

Papa and I were out for a constitutional… I had to go… you know, make pee. I spotted some of my favorite chewing material. Rock hard, old… stuff I left there the week before. Hey, I’m a dog. We do that. Get over it.

Papa tried to take it out of my mouth and… well… I bit him. It was over so quickly. I didn’t even think about it. Before I knew it my teeth were showing and I left a little mark on his finger. Believe me, it was little. But he was… to put it mildly… a little upset.

He grabbed my furry little body and took me inside. But I didn’t drop my prize in the whirlwind of activity.

He took me into the bedroom and told Mama, and then he grabbed my mouth from the side and I dropped my goody.

I didn’t go after it or bite again, because when I started to growl a little, Mama let me have it in her loud Russian way. I felt the life go out of me. I dropped my head in shame.

I should never have bit Papa, or tried to open my mouth to Mama. They both love me so much, no matter what I do. But it hurts me more when I come to my senses and realize I hurt them somehow.

When it was all over they still loved me. Cool, huh!

Tricky Papa

My Papa likes to play tricks on me. The worst part is I always fall for them.
This evening he did it again.

I was spending quality time under the bed, one of my Dorfin Dens of Solitude, when I heard him crying in the other room. I immediately crawled out and ran to his chair. He was indeed crying. He dropped the foot rest and I jumped up and started licking his face.

"Poor Papa", I thought, "poor, poor Papa". I licked his face, and then his ears, all of the time worried to death.

He reached up and rubbed his hands over my fur very affectionately. I was so happy and pleased with myself, then called up to Mama and told her how I always came to them even when they aren’t pretending.

Pretending! I worried myself sick and… oh well, I simply went back to my Den of Solitude and closed my eyes.

Papa is good to me. I’ll forgive this time… and probably many more. That’s just my way.

Fun! Fun! Fun!

For the second weekend in a row the gang was together. Cinna, Sir Buddy, & me.

Cinna & I had great fun beating up on Sir Buddy. Believe me he can take it... and give it.

Actually with the heat and humidity here in Baltimore, and our all out playing, we slept a lot of the time.

I hadn't felt well for a couple days, finally had a BM Saturday morning and things improved from there. Papa kept giving me a little of this stuff called mineral oil. For some reason I just loved it.

Gotta go get some shut-eye.

Later,
Woodie
